Play
I have said this before, and I’ll keep saying it because it’s true…
‘We were all children once’.
Most children spend their time without a second thought, being playful, singing, telling jokes, laughing, playing, drawing, writing stories and dancing. It comes naturally to us.
If it feels good, then we do it. We do not care what anyone else thinks of us.
I want to let you into a bit of a secret…you can connect with that same child.
You don’t need to drink alcohol or get permission from anyone.
You get to choose when you are silly or loud and the party person.
You can turn it off too because when alcohol isn’t the reason, you are in control.
You are the master of your destiny.
Let go of the fear of being judged because it’s not serving you anymore.
It’s time to step into your power and to have fun (on your terms).
What would you do if you didn’t fear being judged? Write on the PLAY page of your Sober Journal. If you’re not sure, try some of the suggestions below,
Laughter Yoga.
Nothing beats a good belly laugh. During Lockdown I tried laughter yoga, and it was so much fun! Once I started laughing, I couldn’t stop and it made me feel so good.
Studies have shown that laughing is linked to our physical, emotional and mental well-being. We feel better after letting go.
