Week 9 - Relationships
As we delve deeper into our journey of self-discovery and growth, it's natural for our relationships to evolve alongside us. Just as we may mourn the loss of our former selves, those around us may undergo a similar process of adjustment.
Trust that this transformation is part of the natural ebb and flow of life. Some relationships may flourish, while others may falter before finding their footing again. Embrace this process with patience and understanding, knowing that change often paves the way for new beginnings.
It's important to remember that not everyone may understand or fully support your journey. Some may struggle to come to terms with the changes they see in you, as it may serve as a reflection of their own behaviours or choices. Be compassionate towards them, recognising that their reactions stem from their own internal struggles and biases.
As you gain confidence in your newfound identity, you may find that certain relationships undergo a positive transformation, growing stronger and deeper than before. These are the connections that accept you for who you are, inspiring and supporting you along your journey.
However, if you encounter resistance or pushback from others, remember to stay true to yourself. Your journey is unique to you and its’s about finding alignment and authenticity, even if it means outgrowing certain relationships along the way.
It's important to communicate openly and honestly with those closest to you, sharing your experiences and insights as you navigate this journey of self-discovery. While some may struggle to understand, others may find inspiration and encouragement in your courage and resilience.
If you find yourself facing challenges within your relationships, take a moment to reflect on your own needs and boundaries. Trust your intuition to guide you towards relationships that uplift and empower you, while gently releasing those that no longer serve your growth and wellbeing.
As you continue to nurture your relationships with care and intention, you'll create a supportive network of like-minded individuals who share your values and aspirations. Together, you'll embark on a journey of growth, connection, and mutual support, empowering each other to thrive and flourish in all aspects of life.
My relationships changed so much when I stopped drinking alcohol - I had a full blown identity crisis, as I didn’t know where I fit in anymore. Time, discipline and checking in with myself helped me to gain confidence and feel proud with my decision.
I let go of the need to be loved by everyone. I realised that I can’t make everyone happy. I trusted that the right people would like me. This positive mindset shift made all of the difference and I started to love myself for who I am and what gives me a natural high.
Be proud of your choice to be more mindful and choose a healthy lifestyle for yourself, which your future self will thank you for!
When you start living your life authentically and in alignment, you will start attracting new relationships; after all, they say, ‘your vibe attracts your tribe’! Think of this as an opportunity to meet new like-minded people, supportive of the new life that you are building for yourself. Don’t let others hold you back from your full potential; surround yourself with people who have your back and who are cheering you on every step of the way.
I appreciate that this may be a lot for some people, especially if this relationship is with your lifelong partner. If your partner isn’t supportive of your choice to be more mindful and to choose a lifestyle that serves you, then this can be hard. Sometimes, we need to educate those around us, as we are all wired differently. If we do not share with others how we feel and why it’s important to us to be mindful about X, Y and Z and to practice mindfulness, then they may not be on the same page as us.
It’s important to remind yourself WHY you started on this journey of real self discovery in the first place.
Listen to the visualisation and and then note down on WEEK 9 any relationships you feel have changed; what’s coming up for you? What are you noticing with a fresh perspective?
The best thing about developing your own intuition through daily reflection is that you will strengthen your relationship with yourself so that you know, without clouded judgement, which relationships serve you and which do not.
