Reflections

As we come to the end of our 12 weeks together, it is important to remember why we started this Sober Journey in the first place.

Like any toxic relationship, after time has passed, it can be easy to allow ourselves only to remember the good times and forget the bad ones.

This is especially true as you see others enjoy a healthier relationship with alcohol. Why can’t I just be like them and enjoy one or two drinks sensibly and in moderation?

If you have tried to moderate in the past, then it is essential to remember that abstinence and moderation are not the same.

Just because you have abstained for a period of time, does not mean that you will be able to magically moderate now.

Remind yourself that you are different, and that’s OK and why you are choosing a different path, one that serves YOU.
Your relationship with yourself is so much more important. You are going deeper than ever before and this is just the start! Knowing when to say no and what serves you is the most empowering feeling. Doing this deeper work allows you to strengthen your intuition…it’s like a muscle, getting stronger and stronger over time. The Journey of Real Self-Discovery is never-ending but so rewarding.

Take time to reflect in your Sober Journal on your key learnings over the last three months.

You might like to revisit the pages to ensure that you don’t miss anything important.

Learn from the journey.

You have created a new level of awareness in yourself.

‘The best thing about being sober is you feel everything. The worst thing about being sober is, that you feel everything.’

There will be highs and lows, but you will be ready to witness the emotions, accept them and release them, rather than becoming consumed by them. You will see this as an opportunity -  to learn and grow.

You should be so proud. You have not only worked hard on your mindset but raised money for charity too.

Celebrate with your favourite sober sip. Use the REFLECTIONS page in your Sober Journal to write your key learnings and final amounts donated to charity to mark the end of the programme.

You’ve got this.

Love & Light,

Sober Jo x
